Industrial Maintenance Tech - Day Shift (VA)

Responsible for improving equipment and processes, troubleshooting plant equipment, and ordering parts and repair work as needed.  This position visually inspects and tests machinery, and is responsible for the quality of all work performed.  Work includes the following:

 

  • Troubleshoots, programs, and repairs plant equipment and facility.

  • Trains production associates on equipment/procedure troubleshooting.

  • Adheres closely to all safety and environmental standards.

  • Orders parts and repair work as necessary or required.

  • Provides timely customer service to all internal and external customers.

Production Associate - Day Shift (VA)

Production Associates fill one of two roles.  Associates are selected for one of these positions based on interest, skills, and previous experience.

1.  Pultrusion Operators - Operators are responsible for running a production line.  They ensure a continuous supply of raw materials, machine set up and operation, and troubleshooting.  This position requires associates to manage and prioritize multiple tasks that ensure continuous operation of the production line.  Candidates must have a good memory and problem solving skills.  Once trained, this position provides training and mentoring to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills required.

2.  Pultrusion Inspectors - This position inspects finished goods as they come off the manufacturing line, prepares shipping labels, and packs product.  Responsibilities include operating fabrication equipment, monitoring product quality to ensure customer specifications are met and preparing equipment/materials for production runs.  Once trained, provide mentoring and training to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills required.

Responsible to operate forklift vehicles in accordance with all internal and external safety procedures and trainings.  This position serves Operations (and other customer groups as requested) by ensuring the flow of materials/products within the facility is optimized. 

Key Responsibilities:            

  • Safely operates forklifts and maintaining incident rate goals as set by management and reports all near misses
  • Maintains, improves and enforces safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment; completes and documents 100% of daily forklift inspections before every shift (1 hour window)
  • Maintain Customer service level goals as set by team management
  • Removes debris and brings prepared crates to end of lines (supports all running and non-running production lines)
  • Moves crates from stands to floor (ensuring appropriate sign-off/labeling)
  • Removes completed product from production floor into staging area.
  • Uses computer systems to transfer product to inventory; may involve multiple electronic transactions
  • Accurately labels items per customer requirements
  • Maintains housekeeping in crate storage area and FG staging area
  • Stages and loads trucks with appropriately stacked crates
  • If available, assists Quality in unloading trucks as needed when a non-conformance has been identified
  • Issues materials from inventory/returns materials to stock
  • Upon request, and as time allows, assist and move items for multiple support teams (i.e. Maint, Mfg Eng, R&D, Tool&Die)
  • Assists S/R in offloading intercompany trucks
  • Rebuild crates as a cost savings and recycling initiative
  • Ensuring crate lengths are accurate on plywood ends and the ICIM tag
  • Labeling crates for external customer orders
  • Ships trucks daily and nightly accurately and timely
  • Contact/communicate with appropriate departments when concerns/problems arise (i.e MIS when computer or scanners down)

Hours for this position are 6:30 a.m.- 6:45 p.m. The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat). All hours over 40 hours per work week are compensated at an overtime rate. With this schedule you only work 7 out of 14 days and every other weekend is a three-day weekend off!

Responsible for the development of the vision of a specific material/process core competency.  Manage innovative projects and lead or participate on cross functional teams, that either improve/enhance our material platform and associated products or create new next generation material platforms that enable our customers to develop new products.  All projects are undertaken with the company’s strategic plans and goals in sight.  Develop the technical expertise for an assigned competency within the Tecton organization.  This expertise shall allow this individual to provide project ideas for advanced research through implementation that are desired by our customers and meet the feasibility and viability goals of the organization.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead or participate as a team member on AR/IPT/PPT projects. Achieve scope of project on time and within budget.

  • Support production, quality control and assurance with respect to material performance characteristics and provide technical support to assess whether materials meet specifications.
  • Provide responsive technical advice, service or assistance on technical issues and make material and/or application recommendations to sales associates/customers when requested.
  • Keep current on new material developments, products, ingredients, and techniques within the plastics industry through technical literature, attendance at technical and professional meetings or seminars, trade organizations and/or shows or contact with customers, suppliers, etc.
  • Perform literature and laboratory research relating to new material development evaluation with respect to new applications.
  • Positively impact the company’s bottom-line through process improvements and material cost reductions.
  • Champion R&D trials to test new materials and process improvements.
  • Perform test protocols for materials within the assigned technical area, utilizing the analytical R&D laboratory.

Tool & Die Maker (ND)

 

This position is responsible for safely setting up and operating equipment in the Tool & Die shop while maintaining a focus on quality workmanship. Our shop is a safe, clean and cutting-edge environment.

Previous experience with CNC grinders and EDM’s preferred, ability to read engineering prints, and capability to compute/convert die dimensions are requirements.  Completion of a related technical degree is strongly preferred. 

This position is following the YELLOW NIGHT shift schedule and hours are 6:30 p.m. – 6:45 a.m.  The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat).  All hours over 40 hours per work week are compensated at an overtime rate.  With this schedule you only work 7 out of 14 days and every other weekend is a three-day weekend off!
