We are seeking an EHS Engineering intern to start this winter to work during the school year through the summer months. Hours are very flexible around school schedule. We would expect 12 - 20 hr/wk during the school year and 40 hr/wk during the summer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement modifications to equipment to improve safety
  • Management of projects to improve safety related processes or procedures
  • Devise solutions to existing manufacturing process and equipment to improve safety performance
  • Assist with general Environmental, Health and Safety activities
  • Other projects and assignments as required

Candidates should be pursuing a 4 year degree in mechanical engineering.

Learning and Development Internship

Maintenance Engineering Intern

We are currently seeking an intern to work closely with one of our Mechanical Engineers beginning in May 2019.  The ideal candidate is available 20-40 hours per week this summer and able to transition to approximately 15-20 hours per week during the school year.  Projects will be a mix of project management and mechanical design.

Process Engineering Intern

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Development, Research & Development, Quality, and Tool and Die to support development efforts.
  • Support trials and quality testing in the engineering and development of new products.
  • Support in the evaluation of manufacturing processes to eliminate gaps and develop standard operating procedures for production.

Production

Production Associate

A Production Associate inspects finished goods as they come off the manufacturing line, prepares shipping labels, and packs product. 

Responsibilities:

Production Associates operate fabrication equipment, monitor product quality to ensure customer specifications are met and preparing equipment/materials for production runs.  Once trained, provide mentoring and training to new associates.  

Schedule:

Days: 6:30 a.m.- 6:45 p.m   $16.50/hr

Nights:  6:30 p.m.- 6:45 a.m.   Pay: $16.50/hr + $2/hr Shift Differential

The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat).  All hours over 40 hours per work week are compensated at an overtime rate.  With this schedule you only work 7 out of 14 days and every other weekend is a three-day weekend off!

Position Summary:

Tecton is currently seeking a Research and Development Scientist to join the Research & Development team at our Fargo, ND location. We are currently searching for candidates who are looking to advance their career with an innovation-driven company as a R & D Scientist:

Research and Development Scientists are responsible for the development of the vision of a specific material/process core competency, managing innovative projects and lead or participate on cross functional teams, that either improve/enhance our material platform and associated products or create new next generation material platforms that enable our customers to develop new products. 

All projects are undertaken with the company’s strategic plans and goals in sight.  Develop the technical expertise for an assigned competency within the Tecton organization.  This expertise will allow you to provide project ideas for advanced research through implementation that are desired by our customers and meet the feasibility and viability goals of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead or participate on AR/IPT/PPT projects. Achieve scope of project on time and within budget.
  • Help ensure that the activities (experiments, tests and reports) are performed at the highest technical standards.
  • Support production, quality control and assurance with respect to material performance characteristics and provide technical support to assess whether materials meet specifications.
  • Provide responsive technical advice, service or assistance on technical issues and make material and/or application recommendations to sales associates/customers when requested.
  • Keep current on new material developments, products, ingredients, and techniques within the plastics industry through technical literature, attendance at technical and professional meetings or seminars, trade organizations and/or shows or contact with customers, suppliers, etc.
  • Perform literature and laboratory research relating to new material development evaluation with respect to new applications.
  • Positively impact the company’s bottom-line through process improvements and material cost reductions.
  • Champion R&D trials to test new materials and process improvements.
  • Perform test protocols for materials within the assigned technical area, utilizing the analytical R&D laboratory.

Position Summary:

Tecton is currently seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to join the team at our Fargo, ND location. The Supply Chain Engineer role plays an instrumental part in executing the strategic initiatives of Tecton’s supply chain to maximize value to its customers and stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead projects aimed at both increasing capacity and improving efficiencies related to the movement of raw materials and finished goods
  • Lead packaging improvement projects that increase safety, improve storage density, and/or reduce damaged product
  • Lead the implementation of new technology improvements throughout Tecton’s supply chain

Production

Machinist

A Machinist is responsible for safely setting up and operating equipment in the Tool & Die shop while maintaining a focus on quality workmanship. Our shop is a safe, clean and cutting-edge environment.

Key Responsibilities:                     

  • Set up and effectively operation of machine tools (i.e. surface grinders, vertical mills) to manufacture dies and other tooling
  • Ability to use all measuring and gauging equipment to perform quality checks
  • Heat treating
  • Inspects and maintains machining equipment
  • Inspects, repairs or modifies tools/dies using machine tools and/or hand tools
  • Lifts, positions and secures parts on surface plate/work tables using hoists, vises, angle plates or v-blocks

 

Education and Experience:

  • Two or more years relevant work experience
  • Related two-year technical degree preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to operate CNC mill or surface grinder independently

Schedule:
