Production

Manufacturing Associate- Day Shift

A Manufacturing Associate inspects finished goods as they come off the manufacturing line, prepares shipping labels, and packs product. 

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Associates operate fabrication equipment, monitor product quality to ensure customer specifications are met and preparing equipment/materials for production runs.  Once trained, provide mentoring and training to new associates.  

Schedule:

Days: 6:30 a.m.- 6:45 p.m  

Pay:

Earn an effective hourly wage  $21.12/hr!

Base: $19.25/hr

Weekend Premium: $2.00/hr

Plus Pay for Experience

The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat).  All hours over 40 hours per workweek are compensated at an overtime rate.  With this schedule, you only work 7 out of 14 days and every other weekend is a three-day weekend off!

Production Associate - Night Shift (VA)

Tecton Products in Roanoke is a proud member of the Marvin Family of Companies.  We design and manufacture fiberglass-reinforced plastics through an innovative process called pultrusion. Production Associates fill one of two roles.  Associates are selected for one of these positions based on interest, skills, and previous experience.

1.  Pultrusion Operators - Operators are responsible for running a production line.  They ensure a continuous supply of raw materials, machine set up and operation, and troubleshooting.  This position requires associates to manage and prioritize multiple tasks that ensure the continuous operation of the production line.  Candidates must have a good memory and problem-solving skills.  Once trained, this position provides training and mentoring to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills are required.

Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Maintenance Tech - Overnights **$4,000 Sign-On Bonus**

Tecton Products is part of the Marvin companies. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment and facility, troubleshooting, repairing, and ordering parts. This position is responsible for the quality of all work performed.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized work area
  • Provides good quality service
  • Timely support
  • Root cause determination
  • Good follow-up on issues
  • Appropriately plans work looking at all priorities
  • Coordinates with production & leadership looks ahead at the schedule
  • Focuses on equipment follow-up issues, PMs, and work orders
  • Makes sure the following shifts are set up to be successful
  • Orders parts and repairs as needed

This role has two core focus areas, either of which may apply:

Shift Support Focus 

  • Supports operations by properly maintaining equipment
  • Provides crisis support
  • Performs line start-up checks
  • Assists production on setup and adjustments as needed
  • Monitors and works toward reducing scrap, non-conformance and downtime due to equipment issues
  • Monitors and maintains facility equipment; uses building checklist
  • Implements improvements to equipment, processes, methods, etc…

Project Focus

  • Plans and Implements projects; Coordinates all aspects of projects from start to finish and assists in implementation as required.
  • Oversees Contractors; coordinate work on various projects, ensure confidentialities are submitted and proper training is completed
  • Coordinates MP2 changes and required inspections
    • Enters new parts into inventory
    • Establishes new and modifies existing PM work orders
    • Coordinates required inspections and certifications as determined by the executive summary

Schedule: 6:30 PM -6:45 AM 

Work 7 out of 14 days! Get every other weekend off!

Position Summary:        

Responsible for recruitment, on boarding and retention activities to meet current labor needs, in addition to, supporting and growing Tecton’s valued human resources.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct recruiting activities to meet the hiring and talent needs, including effective advertising, coordination of community job fairs and creating innovative ways to market Tecton career opportunities.
  • Perform the full life cycle of recruiting activities including sourcing and screening applicants, coordinate background checks & pre-employment checks, maintain recruiting systems, offer letters, provide follow-through with candidates, and track & report recruiting statistics.
  • Lead associate onboarding activities, HR orientation and new hire paperwork; provide support to managers when integrating new hires into the organization.
  • Lead and/or assist with special HR projects
  • Lead and/or assist with HR company processes such as benefits administration, policy guidance & interpretation, performance management tasks, recognition programs & HR communications

The Maintenance Engineering Manager leads all aspects of the functional departments, including facility custodial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively develop and lead the team to align with Tecton's mission and values, as measured by survey scores, turnover, retention, and other key culture metrics of the position
  • Mentor and develop employees within the team
  • Serve as project manager for equipment and facility projects
  • Handle budgetary responsibilities for the given functional areas
  • Ensure that Tecton equipment remains safe to operate, and production ready in support of manufacturing demands
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts of equipment, and work towards optimizing performance of equipment as measured through equipment caused scrap and downtime
  • Provide engineering mentorship and support as needed to ensure environmental and safety regulatory compliance
  • Serve as member of operations leadership staff and support projects and initiatives as the need arises
  • Ensure facility infrastructure capability and capacity (i.e. water, air, electrical, etc.) meets or exceeds production demand
  • Handles hazardous waste in accordance with established procedures and attends annually coordinated hazardous waste management/ handling training
  • Ensures all Maintenance areas and associates meet housekeeping, safety and 5S standards
