Industrial Maintenance Tech - Day Shift (VA)

Responsible for improving equipment and processes, troubleshooting plant equipment, and ordering parts and repair work as needed.  This position visually inspects and tests machinery, and is responsible for the quality of all work performed.  Work includes the following:

 

  • Troubleshoots, programs, and repairs plant equipment and facility.

  • Trains production associates on equipment/procedure troubleshooting.

  • Adheres closely to all safety and environmental standards.

  • Orders parts and repair work as necessary or required.

  • Provides timely customer service to all internal and external customers.

  • Completes tasks assigned and works independently.

  • Handles hazardous waste in accordance with established procedures.

Production

Production Associate - Day Shift (VA)

Production Associates fill one of two roles.  Associates are selected for one of these positions based on interest, skills, and previous experience.

1.  Pultrusion Operators - Operators are responsible for running a production line.  They ensure a continuous supply of raw materials, machine set up and operation, and troubleshooting.  This position requires associates to manage and prioritize multiple tasks that ensure continuous operation of the production line.  Candidates must have a good memory and problem solving skills.  Once trained, this position provides training and mentoring to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills required.

2.  Pultrusion Inspectors - This position inspects finished goods as they come off the manufacturing line, prepares shipping labels, and packs product.  Responsibilities include operating fabrication equipment, monitoring product quality to ensure customer specifications are met and preparing equipment/materials for production runs.  Once trained, provide mentoring and training to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills required.

Position Summary:        

Mechanical Engineer is responsible to manage equipment and process projects to successful completion.  Other key responsibilities include gathering, interpreting and presenting data to drive improvement projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:                  

  • Work well in a team and individually; demonstrate ability to share your expertise and be open to others ideas.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Lead/Support the development and implementation of equipment and process innovations that will improve Tecton’s productivity and capabilities.
  • Manage PPT/IPT projects and drive project success (scope met, on time, on budget).  Champion trial runs on production lines to test and validate new equipment.
  • Design and develop new equipment;
  • Ensure equipment meets project scope,
  • Integrate equipment into production,
  • Train Maintenance on new equipment,
  • Ensure proper documentation is available for new equipment (Equipment Manual, Spare Parts List, Training Materials, Prints & Schematics)  
  • Utilize standard components when possible,
  • Support the development of new products by providing Engineering support in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Identify equipment improvement opportunities for existing equipment; Gather, interpret, and present data to drive improvement projects; determine root cause, develop solutions, validate and implement as required.  Provide support to Production, Maintenance, and other teams as needed.
  • Lead the implementation and support of Health and Safety improvements, and ongoing Environmental regulatory compliance

Hours for this position are 6:30 a.m.- 6:45 p.m.  The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat).  All hours over 40 hours per work week are compensated at an overtime rate.  With this schedule you only work 7 out of 14 days and every other weekend is a three-day weekend off!
