Maintenance

Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Job Purpose:

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment and facility, troubleshooting, repairing, and ordering parts; this position is responsible for the quality of all work performed.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains a safe, clean, and well-organized work area
  • Provides good quality service
  • Appropriately plans work looking at all priorities
  • Coordinates with production & leadership looks ahead at the schedule
  • Focuses on equipment follow-up issues, PMs and work orders
  • Makes sure the following shifts are setup to be successful
  • Orders parts and repairs as needed
  • Supports operations by properly maintaining equipment
  • Provides crisis support
  • Performs line start-up checks
  • Assists production on setup and adjustments as needed
  • Monitors and works toward reducing scrap, non-conformance and downtime due to equipment issues
  • Monitors and maintains facility equipment; uses building checklist
  • Implements improvements to equipment, processes, methods, etc.

Schedule: 6:30 PM -6:45 AM 

Work 7 out of 14 days! Get every other weekend off!

Production Associate - Night Shift (VA)

Tecton Products in Roanoke is a proud member of the Marvin Family of Companies.  We design and manufacture fiberglass-reinforced plastics through an innovative process called pultrusion. Pultruded materials are an ideal replacement for traditional building materials in many applications - we are proud to be the world leader in pultrusion! 

Production Associates fill one of two roles.  Associates are selected for one of these positions based on interest, skills, and previous experience.

1.  Pultrusion Operators - Operators are responsible for running a production line.  They ensure a continuous supply of raw materials, machine set up and operation, and troubleshooting.  This position requires associates to manage and prioritize multiple tasks that ensure the continuous operation of the production line.  Candidates must have a good memory and problem-solving skills.  Once trained, this position provides training and mentoring to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills are required.

2.  Pultrusion Inspectors - This position inspects finished goods as they come off the manufacturing line, prepares shipping labels, and packs products.  Responsibilities include operating fabrication equipment, monitoring product quality to ensure customer specifications are met, and preparing equipment/materials for production runs.  Once trained, provide mentoring and training to new associates.  Basic math and computer skills are required.

Environmental Health & Safety Manager

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing EHS policies, programs, and procedures that align with Tecton’s goals, ensuring federal, state, and corporate compliance. Leads the strategic effort towards an injury-free workplace.

Essential Functions:

Responsibilities Include:

  • Actively develop and leads the culture of your team to align with Tecton’s mission and values, as measured by survey scores, turnover, retention, and other key culture metrics of the position
  • Train, mentor, and develop EHS resources to provide the opportunity for organizational and personal growth.
  • Ensures Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security policies, programs, and practices are current, compliant, and administered in accordance with federal, state, local, and corporate requirements.
  • Ensures EHS programs/policies/procedures appropriately manage risk for the organization. Works to align all plant sites' EHS programs when possible.
  • Develop and execute, in coordination with other leaders, the strategic plan for eliminating injuries and accidents.
  • Primary lead on maintaining OSHA VPP Star compliance.
  • Support the facilities functional area as needed for backup support and project work
  • Lead projects that will improve the safety of our associates.

  • Accurately and completely finish manufacturing orders which includes visually inspecting all parts for conforming to quality standards; labeling, cleaning dust off all surfaces, packaging and data entry (as appropriate)
  • Operate fabrication equipment to produce parts to required specifications, which includes adjusting saw length
  • Perform quality checks using measuring devices such as calipers, angle blocks, taper gauges, tape measures, and measuring tables
  • Follow the approved quality practices of the Quality Management System and suggesting improvements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Conduct tasks involving management of hazardous waste streams
  • Train other associates as needed in inspection and related duties

Schedule:

Days: 6:30 a.m.- 6:45 p.m  

Pay:

Earn an effective hourly wage  $23.64/hr!

Base: $20.75/hr

Weekend Premium: $4.00/hr

Plus Pay for Experience

The normal work schedule includes working 36 hours one week (Sun/Wed/Thu) and 48 hours the next (Mon/Tue/Fri/Sat).  All hours over 40 hours per workweek are compensated at an overtime rate.  With this schedule, you only work 7 out of 14 days and every other weekend is a three-day weekend off!
